The Expert Group on Skills and Human Resources Development in Sport meets for the 3rd time

The third meeting of the European Commission Expert Group “Skills and Human Resources Development in Sport” took place on November 13 in Salzburg. The expert group on human resources is one of two expert groups set up under the EU work plan 2017-2020.

As an observer of the expert group, EuropeActive presented the ongoing work in the framework of the Blueprint for skills cooperation and employment in Active Leisure project. Cliff Collins, director of programmes at EuropeActive, gave an update on the steps already taken and the ones to come. He also updated the participants on the recently published pathway, developed under the SIQAF project.

The expert group also looked at the important role sport coaches have, with special attention for the coaches working with people with disabilities. The representatives of the European Commission gave an update on their activities and invited everyone for the next expert group meeting, which will take place in Romania, who’ll have the next presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of 2019.
